Opinion: The following topics are mostly ignored, played down, or even excluded from degrowth policy, although they are important factors in social justice and keeping us within planetary boundaries:

- Access to voluntary birth control and abortion

- Rent control, limits on multiple home ownership, prioritizing availability of low and moderate income housing

- The rights of immigrants

- Ending built-in obsolescence and adding repairability

- Putting peace first, cutting the military budget and its importance for controlling climate change and shifting funds to social programs

- Working together with other progressive groups

- Appropriate electrification and decarbonization:

     * electrifying and expanding public transit

     * appropriate placement of solar panels (eg: on buildings, parking lots and roadsides instead of clearing land)

     * Wind power

- Reducing air travel, especially private jetting

- Organic and restorative agriculture

- Making policies more concrete (less abstract)
